The Registrar of Voters Office provides a number of services to voters with disabilities
including:

Tape Recordings
Thanks to recording for the Blind and Dyslexic
(805) 681-0531 and the Braille Institute (682-6222) local measures and candidate
races are available on tape for the vision impaired. Tapes can be checked out at
the following locations:

Assistance at the Polls
Voters unable to complete their ballot
may bring one or two persons with them into the voting booth to assist them, or
they may ask pollworkers to provide assistance. You may not be assisted by your
employer, union representative nor an agent of your employer or union representative.
Voters with Disabilities
To determine whether your polling place
is accessible turn to the back cover of your sample ballot.
Curbside Voting
If your Polling Place is not accessible you may
vote in any area as close to the polling place as possible. Someone must alert the
Precinct Officers for you, and they will bring the voting materials to you.
Tools
Every polling place has large print instructions on how
to vote, and an easy grip pin adapters to make the marking pens for signing the
roster and marking the ballot easier to grasp.
Permanent Absent Voter Status
Any voter may apply for permanent
absent voter status.
